Frequently asked questions

Common questions about garage doors from QuickFix Garage Door Service.

How much does a broken spring replacement cost?

Broken torsion spring replacement typically runs $150–$350 depending on the spring size and whether one or both springs need replacement. We always replace both springs at the same time — if one breaks, the other is near the end of its life. We'll give you a written quote before any work begins.

How long does a typical garage door repair take?

Most repairs — spring replacement, cable repair, off-track realignment, or opener troubleshooting — are completed in 60 to 90 minutes. Our trucks are stocked with the most common parts so we rarely need to reschedule for a parts run.

Can I still use my garage door if a spring is broken?

We strongly advise against it. A broken spring means the door is extremely heavy and can fall unexpectedly. Forcing it open or using the opener puts dangerous strain on the motor and cables. Call us for same-day service instead.

What brands of garage door openers do you service?

We service and install all major brands including LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, Genie, Linear, and Overhead Door. We also program smart openers compatible with myQ, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa.

Do you offer a warranty on your repairs?

Yes. Every repair comes with a workmanship warranty. New springs carry the manufacturer's warranty plus our labor guarantee. If something we touched fails under normal use within the warranty period, we return and fix it at no charge.

Do you offer emergency after-hours service?

Yes — we offer emergency service for situations where the door is stuck open (leaving your home unsecured) or completely inoperable. Call us and we will dispatch a technician as quickly as possible.

How often should I have my garage door tuned up?

Most manufacturers recommend an annual tune-up that includes lubrication of all moving parts, safety sensor testing, cable inspection, spring tension check, and balance test. A tune-up extends the life of your door and opener and catches small issues before they become expensive ones.
